Summoning the spirit of Old Crockern –Dartmoor’s ancient defender against greed, as part of the Right to Roam campaign.

This being was created in skeletal form by The Lost Giants and then brought to life in a workshop spanning two days with the Right to Roam community. Together we created from the materials gathered from moorland and the backs of closets. We ripped, sewed, platted, glued, told stories, shared food, and sang life and spirit into Old Crockern.Then, on the 21st of January 2023, Old Crockern graced this wild land of ours, accompanied by a wonderful raggle-taggle band of musicians and dancers.

To give heart to the rightful campaign to return the right to wild camp on Dartmoor.
