Description: Ooelle (pronounced “ooo-el”) is no ordinary creature—she’s a towering Giant Mountain Goat, originally conjured into existence for the Fire in the Mountain Festival Procession in 2025. Since then, she’s become something of a wandering wonder, gracing fêtes and festivals across the land. At the centre of her floral brow lies a mysterious third eye—rumoured to glimpse beyond the veil, into forgotten dreams and future revelries.
Ooelle is pieced together from a mix of natural elements—such as coir, dried flowers, sisal, rattan, and wool—combined with curious car boot sale finds, including tennis balls, an old wetsuit, a lampshade, and even a wayward flip flop.
What Was the First Event the Giant / Beast Attended? Fire in the Mountain 2025
Does the Giant / Beast Still Exist? Yes
Any Tales of Outings, Visits, Strange and Wonderful Occurrences, or Special Memories That Should Go Down in History? Ooelle enjoys tea and cake, so much so that she has become a regular at the Carleen Village Tea Treat ( a long-lost and recently revived Cornish tradition) where she leads the procession and serpent dance around Trew Green.
Who Carries the Giant / Inhabits the Beast, or Is It a Shared Role? A multitude of folk, each harbouring a goat within.
How is it stored? Her stable is in West Cornwall Maker / Creator(s) The Lost Giants.
